Peppermint has been used for thousands of years, the name coming from Minthe, a nymph transformed into a mint plant in Greek mythology. Giving a distinctively cooling sensation, it is used to provide high quality peppermint flavour for confectionary, beverages, pharmaceutical and oral care applications. Our organic peppermint oil comes from a large organic plantation in Uttar Pradesh, India which has production capacity of up to 10 tonnes per annum of organic peppermint oil.
This natural product is a combination of volatile oils (menthol, menthone, menthyl acetate, menthofuran). It contains a lower percentage of menthofuran than our standard grade making it more suitable for personal care use.
It is obtained from multiple distillations from fresh flowering aerial parts, recently gathered, from the Mentha piperita plant.
